Traffic Department: Different Traffic Plan to Be Implemented on Thursday

Al-Taj News – The Traffic Department announced the implementation of a different traffic plan during Thursday’s evening period, covering the afternoon, evening, and post-dinner periods, with enhanced monitoring in commercial markets and entertainment areas.

Traffic Department Operations Room Officer Captain Musab Al Marayiat said the department’s teams have been deployed since the early morning hours at the entrances and exits of the capital, major junctions, and roads leading to schools and universities, to monitor traffic and deal with any obstacles that could affect its flow.

Al Marayiat added that the department dealt on Thursday morning with a disabled vehicle after the exit of Al Daher Bridge for traffic coming from the direction of Al Qusour Bridge, on Al Istiqlal Street before the Interior Ministry, which affected traffic flow and caused a traffic impact, before the vehicle was towed and efforts were made to clear the resulting traffic impact.

He explained that traffic movement at a number of major junctions inside the capital is flowing smoothly, noting that Traffic Department teams are monitoring traffic in the field and through the operations room and surveillance cameras, while giving priority to the lanes and directions with the highest traffic density.

Regarding traffic movement in the Medical City Circle area, Al Marayiat said traffic coming from the Suweileh direction is flowing smoothly, as is traffic coming from the Safoot Tunnel toward the Eighth Circle area, as well as opposing traffic toward Khalda and Suweileh. He noted that the circle itself is under monitoring and follow-up by the operations room.

He added that traffic on the Eighth Bridge toward the Al Nahda area, extending to Airport Road, is flowing smoothly in both directions, with traffic lights being monitored through the Traffic Control Room and priority being given to the direction with the highest traffic density.

In the Sports City area, he noted the presence of traffic density at the exit, which is being addressed by giving priority to traffic on the bridge to avoid affecting Queen Rania Street, in addition to monitoring traffic at the exit of the Press Tunnel and working to tow vehicles and clear the resulting traffic impact.
